Daily Maintenance Guide for Mixer Truck
Proper daily maintenance is crucial to ensure the stable operation, extend the service life, and reduce failure risks of mixer trucks. The following are key maintenance points that should be performed regularly before, during, and after operation:
1. Pre-Operation Inspection
Fluid Levels Check: Verify the levels of engine oil, coolant, hydraulic oil, and brake fluid. Ensure all fluids are within the standard range and check for any leakage signs around pipelines, joints, and tanks.
Tire Condition Inspection: Examine the tire pressure, tread depth, and surface for cracks, bulges, or foreign objects. Check the tightness of wheel nuts to prevent loosening during operation.
Mixing Drum & Hydraulic System Check: Inspect the mixing drum for residual concrete accumulation. Check the hydraulic pump, motor, and hoses for damage or oil leakage. Test the drum rotation function to ensure smooth operation without abnormal noise.
Safety Devices Check: Confirm that the emergency stop button, safety guard, and warning lights are functioning properly. Ensure the water tank for cleaning the drum is fully filled.
2. In-Operation Monitoring
Abnormal Signs Observation: Pay attention to the engine’s operating sound, exhaust color, and temperature. Monitor the hydraulic system’s pressure gauge to ensure it operates within the normal range. If any abnormal vibration, noise, or leakage is found, stop the machine immediately for inspection.
Drum Rotation Maintenance: Avoid long-term idling of the drum when it’s empty. During transportation of concrete, keep the drum rotating at a slow speed (2-4 rpm) to prevent concrete solidification. Do not overload the drum beyond its rated capacity.
Brake System Check: Test the brake performance regularly during operation, especially when driving on steep roads or in heavy-load conditions. Ensure the brake pedal feel is normal and the braking distance meets the requirements.
3. Post-Operation Maintenance
Cleaning Work: Thoroughly clean the mixing drum, feeding hopper, discharge chute, and the outer surface of the truck. Use the water tank to flush the drum interior, and rotate the drum at high speed to discharge residual water and concrete debris. Clean the hydraulic system’s oil filter and air filter elements if necessary.
Component Inspection & Lubrication: Check the wear condition of the drum’s mixing blades and liners. Apply lubricating oil to the drum’s supporting bearings, hydraulic cylinder pins, and other moving parts as per the maintenance manual. Tighten any loose bolts or fasteners found during inspection.
Parking & Storage: Park the mixer truck on a flat and solid ground. Retract the discharge chute and secure it properly. Turn off the engine and disconnect the power supply if the truck will not be used for a long time. Cover the truck with a waterproof cloth if parked outdoors to prevent rust.
